Golf Apparel
There are a number of choices open to you when deciding on the best available golf apparel. As a golfer, what to
wear isn't necessarily the first thing on your mind, but being able to choose the right golf
apparel, more by how it fits and feels, than by how it looks, can make a huge difference in how well you'll be playing.
Many golf courses have rules as to what golf apparel is acceptable. This
means no tank tops, singlets, short shorts or anything too casual or sloppy. Players must wear shirts with
collars and no jeans allowed. Shoe types are usually restricted to golf shoes or sports shoes.
Golf Apparel for Men
Male golfers will usually wear dress or khaki pants with a collared polo shirt. In warm weather, fitted, knee-length
shorts of are generally accepted as part of golf apparel for men. Men will often wear a hat to keep the sun
out of their eyes, often a peaked cap or hat with a brim.
Golf Apparel For Women
Golf apparel for women covers many possible options but still must adhere to the general overall boundaries of acceptable
standards. Golf skirts have proven very popular with women golfers because they're less restrictive, while others may
choose shorts or loose pants. Polo tops are also worn including some sleeveless polo
tops that are allowed on the more upscale golf courses. Women will often use visors or peaked caps to block the sun
although hats are also a good option.
Comfortable Golf Apparel
When it comes to choosing your golf clothing, make sure it's not too restrictive, tight or uncomfortable. Your
golf swing depends on moving in a smooth, unrestricted motion so you'll want to wear golf clothing that allows
room to move around. Choose golf clothing made of breathable, lightweight fabrics, especially if you
play primarily in warmer weather. Most sports clothing is made from fabrics that will allow use in most
weather conditions to keep you warm or cool depending on the season.
Where to Find Golf Apparel
Golf course pro shops will normally carry those lines of golf clothing that will conform to their dress code.
These are usually more prominent brands and will be a bit more expensive than purchasing them in an
independent store or online. You can get some great deal on golf apparel at and online golf shop these days and
often at discount prices.
